Obituary of Bette J Gibson

Elizabeth "Bette" Gibson, 90, of Washington Township, NJ passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017 at home with her family by her side. She was born on July 24, 1926 at home in Hampton, NJ to the late Harry and Alice Laube. Raised in Hampton, Bette was a graduate of Hampton High School class of 1944. Bette was also a graduate of Wilford Academy Beauty School. She owned and operated Bett's Beauty Shop in both Hampton and Washington. She was very active in her community, and was one of the founding members of the Hampton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was of the Presbyterian faith and a parishioner of the Presbyterian Church in Hampton where she was a member of the Deacon's Group. She also volunteered her time on the election board. Bette enjoyed needlework and sewing, especially for her family and friends. She will be sadly missed. Bette is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Robert Gibson, her loving children, 2 daughters, Dawn Stone and Susan Stone. Her caring sister, Shirley Wright and her husband Charles, 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her 1st husband Frederick Stone. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday January 31, 2017 from 6-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882.With a Ladies Auxiliary service to be held at 7:30 PM. Visitation will be held again on Wednesday February 1, 2017 from 10-11 AM. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bette's name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Drive, Newton, NJ 07860. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
