Obituary of William J Popkivich

William J. Popkivich Jr, 69, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2018 at is home in Washington, NJ.

Bill was born in Somerset, NJ on September 13, 1948 to the late William J. Popkivich Sr. and Margaret Popkivich.

Bill graduated from Somerset high school class of 1966. He joined the US Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Bill was employed as a Correction officer for the Somerset County Jail for more than 30 years, retiring in 2013. He married the love of his life Geraldine Walters in 1994. Bill was a past member of the NJ PBA and the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking and was a very skilled auto mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, 24 years Geraldine Popkivich, his mother, Margaret Popkivich, a sister, Peggy McCarthy, a nephew, William McCarthy and a niece, Heather Smith. Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Robert

Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday August 18, 2018 from 10-11 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
