Obituary of Joseph D Henderson

Joseph D. Henderson, 82, of Oxford, NJ passed away peacefully on March 27, 2018 at St. Luke’s Warren Hospital.

Joseph was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on May 2, 1935 to the late Joseph and Mary Henderson.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of the Oxford and Port Colden area. He graduated from Washington high school class of 1954. He joined the US Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Hoffmann La Roche in Belvidere in 1995. Joseph was a founding member, charter member, life member and past president of the Oxford Emergency Squad he was also a special police officer for Oxford Township. He enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling and attending music festivals in Lake George, NY. His loving wife of 53 years Genevieve “Chiniewicz” Henderson preceded him in death in 2013.

He is survived by his Aunt Dottie Bulmer, In-Laws; Henry and Barbara Chiniewicz, Jarred and Mary Briegel, Edward and Janet Chiniewicz, Robert and Barbara Schubert and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday April 4, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington, NJ 07882. Oxford Emergency Squad prayer service will be held at 8:15 PM on Wednesday. Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday April 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Evan Rohrs-Dodge officiating.  Burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ.
