Obituary of John J O'Connor

John J. O’Connor Sr., 91 of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully on June 15, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born on August 27, 1924 in Walton, NY to the late John and Carrie O’Connor. John worked as an Accountant for the West Point military Academy for 25 years retiring in 2006. He served proudly in the US Army during WWII. He was a Purple Heart recipient for wounds he received in Germany. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and past Grand Knight, Council 486 Middletown, NY. He was a life member of the VFW Post 151 in Middletown, NY and a life member of the America legion Post 151. John was a member of the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department McQuoid’s Engine and Ladder Co #3. His loving wife of 63 years Julia “Edolo” O’Connor passed away in 2015. He is survived by a son John J. O’Connor Jr. A daughter Jill O’Connor and her Fiancé Robert Crawford. 3 grandsons Ryan Crawford, Dallas Crawford and Benjamin Crawford. A great Granddaughter Sophia Crawford. Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday June 25, 2016 from 9-10; 00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM from St. Joseph Catholic Church. 200 Carlton Ave. Washington. NJ 07882. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
