Obituary of John Wydner

John C. Wydner, 84, a lifelong resident of Hampton, NJ passed away peacefully on May 28, 2014 at Morristown hospital with his family by his side. Born: on November 12, 1929 in Asbury, NJ to the late Floyd and Mae Wydner. Personal: John attended Hampton high school until he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served proudly in the military and was a veteran of the Korean War. John married the love of his life Patricia (Hickey) on November 12, 1955. John worked as a general contractor for more than 50 years; he owned and operated Wydner Construction in Hampton before retiring in 1992. He was a past member of the American Legion 446 John Dolak Post in Alpha, NJ. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was a NY Yankee fan. John loved to spend his summers boating at the Jersey shore with his family. Survivors: His loving wife of 59 years Patricia; a daughter Jeanne Murphy and her husband Larry; his loving granddaughter Kate Murphy; and his brother Floyd "Bud" Wydner. John was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Castner, a brother Robert Wydner, and his golden retriever Holly. Services: Friends and family may call on Sunday June 1, 2014 from 4-7 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday June 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in Hampton, NJ.
