Obituary of Frederick E. Sherman

Frederick E. Sherman, 87, passed away on April 30, 2010 at his home in Harmony Township. Born: August 29, 19 22 in Jersey City, he was a son of the late Frederick J. and Mary Sherman. Personal: He was a resident of Harmony Township for 24 years, previously he lived in Chester and Bartley, NJ. Fred worked at the Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Co in Kearny, NJ before serving proudly in the Army's 787th Field Artillery Battalion as a cannoneer during World War II. Mr. Sherman retired in 1984 after 27 years with Warner Lambert/Pfizer as a machinist Fred graduated from Grover Cleveland High School class of 1940. Fred enjoyed wood working, home improvement, flea marketing and long drives. Memberships: He was a member of Warner Lambert Retirees. Survivors: He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years Marilyn; his beloved children, Joanne of Morristown and Edward of Harmony. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Carruth. Services: Visitation will be Wednesday May 5, 2010, 3 to 5 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
