Obituary of Ronald Sives

Ronald G. "Doc" Sives, 75, of Port Murray, NJ, passed away peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Born: February 19, 1935 in Bradford, PA he was a son of the late Wallace and Gladys Sives. Personal: He lived in the Washington, NJ area for 35 years and had previously lived in Newark. Ronald was head mechanic at Borealis Compounds in Port Murray for the past 45 years. Ron loved the outdoors whether it be camping, fishing or teaching Sparky new tricks. Ron's enjoyment of the lakes and ocean lead him to be an avid fisherman. For entertainment indoors Ron really loved to try his luck at the casino, smiling either way. Last but not least, he filled his day making people laugh. This must have been a hobby or was it an art form. We will keep smiling remembering his jokes and stories. Memberships: Ronald was a member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church, Port Murray. Survivors: His loving wife Nancy; two daughters: Sandra Robertson and her fiance John Kiley of Holland Township, Kathleen Matthews and her husband Edward of Canada; two sons: Ronald G. Sives Jr. and wife Irene of South Plainfield, Mark Sives of Phillipsburg; three stepdaughters: Rose Strohmaier and her husband Karl of Port Murray, Nancy Ann Gorringe and her husband Stephen of Bucks County, PA, and Christina Slack and her husband of Fred of Bethlehem; 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His first wife, Joanne Sives, passed away in 2006. Services: A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 21 in St. Theodore's Catholic Church, 855 Route 57, Port Murray with Fr. Zenek officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Washington, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Hill, 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882.
