Obituary of Henry L. Maliszewski

Henry L. Maliszewski, 88, of the Brookfield Section of Belvidere, NJ formally of Washington, NJ and Wilkes-Barre, PA passed away peacefully at St Luke's hospital in Bethlehem, PA on March 25, 2014. Born: May 24, 1925 in Batavia, NY to the late Casmier and Helen Maliszewski. Personal: Henry graduated from Batavia High School class of 1943. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and took post-graduate courses at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He married his soul mate Mildred Lind ("Millie") in 1950. Henry was employed as a research chemist for Airco in Murray Hill, NJ. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Belvidere and a member of the Brookfield Chorus. He enjoyed history, politics and genealogy. He spent over ten years researching and assembling a comprehensive family history. He was an avid Xavier basketball fan. Henry played trombone and lettered in track and field in college. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors: His loving wife of 64 years Mildred; two daughters Jeanine Sauchelli, Rebecca Colligan and her husband Bud; three sons Thomas Maliszewski, Richard Maliszewski and his wife Helen and Stephen Maliszewski; ten grandchildren Mark, Paul, Shannon, Courtney, Erin, Casey, Caitlin, Daniel, Gregory and Jesse; six great grandchildren John, Jack, Eli, Jacob, Lincoln and Amelia; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by four brothers Edward, Matthew, Leo and Richard; four sisters Cecelia, Irene, Christine and Genevieve, and a daughter in-law Lori Maliszewski. Services: Friends and family may call on Friday March 28, 2014 from 4-7 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home; 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882 (908) 689-0119. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 29, 2014 at 9:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; 327 Greenwich St. Belvidere, NJ 07823.
