Obituary of James Clark Jr.
James Clark Jr., 72, of Washington, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born on May 9, 1952, in Camden, NJ, James was the beloved son of the late James Clark Sr. and Gwendolyn (Laxton) Clark.
He is survived by sisters Gale Harris, Valerie Caldini, and Gwendolyn Ostman as well as nieces and nephews and his cat Patches. A very special person Carol was by his side throughout his illness and brought peace to his passing with prayers and compassion.
Jimmy spent his early years in South Jersey, he was full of tricks, experimenting with many different ideas that came to him, and he was especially interested in science and action sci fi. His sense of humor caused exhausting laughter for his family and friends.
In his thirties, James moved to Washington, NJ and began his devotion to Christianity. He studied the Bible and preached from the gospel at a local prison. He partnered in a commercial and residential cleaning company. He could fix anything that stopped working, even computers.
Jim eventually led an eccentric lifestyle and was known in the area as the "Jack of all Trades" all skills self-taught. He used these skills to keep the Vault running smoothly, a place for young people to gather organized by the local church. He will be remembered by his family and local friends.
A memorial service celebrating James's life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Faith Discovery Church, 33 Brass Castle Road, Washington, NJ 07882.
