Obituary of Suzanne L Mahoney
Suzanne Mahoney, 88, of Washington, NJ, formerly of Pattenburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob”, parents Howard and Elizabeth Logan, and siblings John and Barry Logan.
Sue is survived by children Steven (Gretchen), Lisa, Matt (Gayle), grandchildren Andy (Jen), Emily, Kristen (Tim), Thomas, Brian (Alexis), Christopher, Julia, great-grandchildren Greyson, Suzana, Benjamin, Lucia, and Robinson, sister Elizabeth Jane Kearney, brother Howard “Ted” Logan, Jr. and many loved nieces and nephews.
Sue grew up in North East, MD. Sue and Bob were married in 1955 and Bob's work with the Long Lines division of AT&T moved them from North East to Chestertown, MD, then Beltsville, MD and finally to Pattenburg, NJ.
Our beloved mother was the glue that held the family together through the years, the moves, and life transitions. She managed the family budget, kept an immaculate house, and was an excellent baker. Her mac and cheese was legendary, and her chocolate chip cookies will be missed by all. She enjoyed painting, knitting, gardening, and sewing. She always had a craft table ready for her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they visited. Holidays were filled with music, laughter, and great food.
She was the family historian and chronicled the history of her family through the Logan, Collings, and Zane families. She was instrumental in organizing the first reunion at the family farm in North East, MD, 40 years ago. A tradition that continues to this day.
After Bob's passing in 2013, Sue moved to Washington, NJ. A lifelong Methodist, she was a member of Washington United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on April 6, 2:00 pm, at Union Community Church, 440 Union Church Rd, Elkton MD. Committal to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Washington Emergency Squad, PO Box 4, Washington NJ 07882, or Washington United Methodist Church, 116 E Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882.
