Obituary of Francis Stephen Grosso

Francis S. Grosso, 80

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Veteran, and Community Volunteer

Francis S. Grosso, fondly known as "Frank G" to his friends, went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025, at the age of 80.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Frank was the cherished son of the late Frank and Gloria (Beneduce) Grosso. He was a proud graduate of Midwood High School, Class of 1962, and later pursued his education at the Institute of Finance in New York City.

Frank served his country with honor, first in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War until 1972, and later reenlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he dedicated 15 additional years before retiring. Alongside his military service, he worked for the New York Transit Authority until his retirement in 1988. A man of many talents and passions, Frank also owned an art gallery, blending his love for creativity with business.

Frank found joy in traveling with his beloved wife, Claire, as they split their time between New Jersey and Venice, FL. A man devoted to helping others, he volunteered with the Arc of Warren County, served as chairman for Meals on Wheels, and was a dedicated church youth leader. As the head usher, he enjoyed greeting everybody, especially the children. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the Christian Motorcycle Association. His love of classic cars was well known, and he could often be found admiring and restoring these timeless treasures.

Frank leaves behind a legacy of love and service. He is survived by his devoted wife, Claire (Simonetta) Grosso; his children, Stephen Grosso (Amie) and Rita Marie (German Guerrero); and his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, James, Anthony, Antonella, Angelo, and Vincent. Frank was predeceased by a sister Janice Hopkins.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Phillipsburg Alliance Church, 255 Lincoln Ave., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A memorial service  celebrating Frank's life will follow at 11:00 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Phillipsburg Alliance Church the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
