Obituary of Anita L Romano

Anita L. Romano, 79, born in Bronx, NY currently of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on hospice care at Country Arch Care Center on December 21, 2024. Anita was born on August 17, 1945 to the late Leonard and Mary "Amendola" DiMenna. Anita held several positions in Washington throughout her life. She most recently worked at Norwescap as a bus aide, most remembered as working at Ames Department Store and was a seamstress at Leacock and Company. She was a hard worker who took all of her work responsibilities ethically and with feistiness. Anita loved to sit outside and people watch. Whether it was on the boardwalk in Long Branch or her porch in Washington - she loved being the "mayor". She loved her children's friends as her own, enjoyed live bands, and her two vices- cigarettes and Amaretto. She was loved by her friends and was generous with all that she was to everyone. Anita is survived by her grateful and blessed children, Andrea and Michael Romano, her greatest joys her grandchildren Nicolas and Hannah Romano, her loving sister Doreen Zuluaf, a niece Rachel Lower and family and nephew David DiMenna. Anita was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her son Frankie and her brother Lenny. Services will be held privately. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home.
