Obituary of Fay J Deremer Fentzlaff

Fay J. Deremer Fentzlaff, 86, of Port Murray, NJ passed away on March 27, 2024 at Lopatcong Care Center with loved ones by her side. Fay was born on October 9, 1937 in Washington NJ to the late Harold and Ellen "Betty" Deremer (Dingler) She was a graduate of Washington high school class of 1956. She worked many years at Mobil Chemical as a quality control inspector. She enjoyed many activities such as picnics at her mom and dads, taking pictures, crocheting, collecting chachkies, growing vegetables, bowling, roller skating, playing rummy, word search and jigsaw puzzles. Fay also enjoyed music and dancing. She played the piano and took singing lessons and got the opportunity to sing on the local radio. She also played saxophone in the high school band. She also liked her trips to the shore ever since she was a little girl. She liked collecting shells, feathers and feeding the seagulls. Fay loved animals and had many different kinds of pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, squirrels, mice and even a skunk. She was always very kind, caring and nurturing; helping those in need whether it be an injured person or animal, someone to talk to, somewhere to stay or someone in financial hardship. Her home was always open. At one point in her life she wanted to be a nurse. Fay lived simply, not wanting much except to see others happy. She was a very sociable person and could light up the room with her affectionate smile. Fay loved little children and loved to have fun. She was a hard working happy go lucky person. She will be greatly missed by all who have come to know her. Fay is survived by her children; Louis Winger, Bonnie VanNess, and Connie Winger and her granddaughter Kathryn Vartanian. In addition to her parents, Fay, is predeceased by her siblings; Ronald and Dale Deremer. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A service celebrating Fay's life will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ.
