Obituary of Robert Lewis Kayhart

Robert Lewis Kayhart, 85, of Port Murray passed away peacefully Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Hackettstown Community Hospital. Born: May 29, 1924 in Montville, NJ, he was a son of the late Lewis and Beatrice Kayhart. Personal: He lived in Port Murray, NJ for the past 50 years, coming from Washington, NJ. Robert was a lifelong farmer. Earlier in his life Robert worked for Sisco Dairy. He owned and operated Kayhart Brothers Farm in Washington with his brother Roger. For the last 50 years he owned Castle Creek Dairy in Port Murray. Robert was also a sales representative for Hubner Seed Co. He was proud to be a farmer and took great pride in his work with livestock. He was a graduate of Boonton High School, class of 1942. Memberships: He was member of the Holstein Association and had his entire herd of Holsteins registered. He was also a representative of ABS (American Breeders Service). He was a member of the Rockport Presbyterian Church; a charter member of the Washington Twp. Fire Dept., and a member of the Warren County Grange. Survivors: His loving wife of 57 years Dora; many nieces and nephews; and his loyal toy fox terrier, Spotty.He was predeceased by a brother, Roger Kayhart, in 2000. Services: Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, October 5, 2009 in Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington with funeral services to follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Robert Ruckert officiating. Burial will be in Midvale Cemetery, Wanaque, NJ. Memorials: Charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W.
