I met Steve in college at Kent State University in 1970. Steve was a good friend at Kent and was always a genuine person to everyone. He was a friend to everyone around him. Even though we met only once after college graduation, we stayed in touch by Christmas cards and occasional phone calls. I am saddened to have heard about Steve's passing but I know he is in a good place. Steve was just a great guy to all who knew him!!!

To the entire Fritts family, my heart weeps for you as I want to wrap my arms around you all. Most of my childhood and high school years were blessed so much by knowing your wonderful family. Steve was the kindest teacher and authority figure dad I can remember. He treated us like adults when he talked to us kids. He was funny, and truly a joy to be around as a friend. This world will truly miss his light. As a father, he could not have done a better job instilling that light into his daughters. I have such fond memories from softball games and parties that I will hold onto forever, and Steve and his family is at the center of all of them. God bless!

We are so sorry to hear of Steve's death. We still have very fond memories of the great venison & Superbowl parties at Lena and Charlies' home. It was raucous, fun and great family gatherings. I know Jack misses the card games. Steve will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He had a great full life ended too short. Our deepest condolences.

Mr. Fritts will be missed. My condolences to you and your family. He was a great role model and had a huge heart. I highly enjoyed him as my gym teacher in middle school. I was so anxious about failing the volley ball physical (I'm not very atheletic) that he let me take a volley ball home to practice. I will never forget him. Always going above and beyond for others.
