Obituary of John Breslin

John Breslin, 84 of Franklin Township, Warren County passed away on January 3rd, 2023 at his home with loved ones at his side. John was born on September 5th, 1938 in Kilkenny, Ireland to the late Michael and Lena Breslin. At age 19 John immigrated from Ireland to the USA to pursue the American dream. As a free-spirited individual he decided to work independently and carry on a long family trade as a talented 6th generation stone and brick mason. A true artisan with an extremely strong work ethic, was very passionate about his jobs and took great pride in his workmanship. Over decades created beautiful fireplaces, walls, walkways and patios. He built, remodeled or added to many homes, buildings, churches and schools in Hunterdon, Warren, Somerset and Morris counties as well as parts of Pa. Immediately upon arriving in the USA John served in the National Guard for several years. During that time he met Janice McDonough who became his wife of 61 years. John was an avid reader with great interest in History, especially World War I & II. He emphasized the importance to know history, learn from it and to keep up on world events. John is survived by his wife Janice M. Breslin, four children, Kathleen, Patrick (Tatijana), John, Michael (Michelle) and ten grandchildren, Liam, Emilie, Micha'l, Owen, Darragh, Brogan, Aughdon, John Deaglan, Julia & Brannagh.
