Obituary of Thomas J Mason
Thomas J. Mason Jr., 76, formerly of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on August 28, 2022 at his home in Oxford, NJ surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas was born on January 10, 1946 in Orange, NJ to the late Thomas J. and Dorothy "Marks" Mason Sr. He graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School class of 1963. He served proudly in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Tom was an airplane mechanic in the military where he also taught hydraulics. Tom married his sweetheart Mary "Cullen" in 1967. He was employed as a Telecommunications Linemen for Bell Atlantic for many years. Later in life Tom enjoyed driving a school bus for Snyder Bus Company in Washington. Tom was a past Captain of the Washington Emergency Squad. He also served on the West Orange First Aid Squad. He enjoyed fishing, history and collecting model trains. Thomas was a big supporter of the Washington Celebrates America and looked forward to watching the parade every year. He cherished spending time with his dog Oscar although his greatest joy was being devoted to his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his loving wife Mary, Tom is survived by his children, Thomas E. Mason and his Fiancée Jamie Ackerman, Robert Mason, Deborah Little and her husband Raymond, Michele Mason, Danielle Hoffman and her husband Gregory and former daughter-in-law Amy; Brothers, Gregory and his wife Elaine and Lee and his wife Judi Mason; Predeceased sisters, Betty Jane and Ginger; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday September 2, 2022 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Thomas's life will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Washington.
