Obituary of Pamela Findlay
Pamela Findlay, 74, of Oxford, NJ passed away peacefully on April 15, 2022 at her home.
She was born on September 15, 1947 in Bangor, Maine to the late Holden and Grace Findlay.
Pamela worked as a prison guard for over 20 years at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton, NJ. She volunteered for many years with the Salvation Army and was a Captain with the organization.
Pamela will always be remembered for her larger than life personality, her kind and giving heart, and her love for animals. Throughout her life she worked to be of service to others and always lent a helping hand. The eldest of three sisters, Pamela looked out for her younger sisters, was always quick with a laugh, and is remembered fondly for her mischievous side.
Pamela has always had a love of animals and took in a number of rescue dogs throughout her life. Just as with people, Pamela was always looking out for the underdog.
Pamela was an accomplished musician in her early days. In her later years she enjoyed collecting Tiffany Angels and planting in her flower garden.
She is survived by her sisters; Helen Findlay and Caroline Ochoa, and nieces and nephews; Carlos Ochoa, Grace Reed- Hansen (Scott Reed- Hansen), Paul Hansen, Everett Reed, and Rosie Reed-Hansen. Pamela also leaves behind her loving dog, Fergie.
All services at this time have been made private and under the direction of Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A memorial service will be announced at a later date and be held in New York.
