Obituary of Elsie Bennett

Elsie H. Bennett, 86, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022 at her home in White Township surrounded by her loving family. Elsie was born on February 14, 1935 in Hewlitt, NY to the late Charles Hutchinson and Pansy Ballow, stepdaughter to the late Benjamin Ballow. She grew up in Plainfield and later Dunellen where she graduated from Dunellen High School class of 1953. She married in 1959 and moved to Hampton, NJ where she spent most of her life. She enjoyed working, providing in-home childcare to many beloved families before retiring and moving to White Township in 2001. Her loving husband Gerard H. Bennett passed away in 1989. She was a long-term parishioner of St. Ann's Church in Hampton, NJ and more recently at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Belvidere. Elsie enjoyed sewing and making crafts, actually having a small business "Primitive Angel" selling her handmade crafts at craft shows. Her greatest love throughout all her life was spending time with her cherished family, especially her grandchildren. Elsie is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Duckworth and her husband George III; a brother Douglas Hutchinson of Inverness, FL; 5 grandchildren Breonna, George IV, Emily, Brayden and Paige, her sister in-law Elizabeth Senker and many nieces and nephews that she adored. In addition to her husband, Elsie was preceded in death by a brother Benjamin Ballow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 4-8 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church. 327 Greenwich St. Belvidere, NJ 07823. Interment will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in Hampton, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
