Obituary of Margaret N. Rush
Margaret N. Rush, known to all as Margie, suddenly passed away at her home in Washington, NJ on December 13, 2021, at the age of 92. Margie, the second born daughter of the late Thomas (Herb) and Dorothy (Ione) "Hendershot" Nolan, was born on November 13, 1929,
in Sunbury, PA. Her sister, Dorothy (Dottye) Hariton preceded her in death in 2019. Margie married her high school sweetheart, Richard Rush on March 20, 1948, he preceded her in death in 1993.
Margie graduated from Washington High School class of 1947. She was a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell in Washington, NJ for over 40 years and a longtime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Margie was a lifelong parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington where she served as a Deacon and volunteered her time serving others. Margie especially enjoyed her mission trips with the church, traveling, making ceramics, spending time with her girlfriends and the traditional Christmas cookie baking weekend with her family. Margie also loved the annual family reunion, where she got to spend time with all of her family.
Margie is survived by her children, Rick (Kathy), Cathy (Larry), Kellye (Randy) and Karyn (Kevin), 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kimberly in 2013.
A viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 40 E. Church St, Washington. A service celebrating Margie's life will follow at 12:00 pm at the church with a private burial to follow.
