Obituary of Allen L Lewis

Allen L. Lewis, 85, a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021in East Stroudsburg, PA with his loving family by his side. Allen was born in the family home in Washington, NJ on September 21, 1935 to the late Russel and Myrtle "Young" Lewis. Allen graduated from Washington High School class of 1953. After high school he joined the US Navy and proudly served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a First Class Boatman's Mate. He was employed by the NJ Water Supply Authority as a Pump Station Operator at the Spruce Run Reservoir for more the 23 years until his retirement in 1999. He served as a NJ State Marine Policeman from 1970-1974. Allen was a member of the Masonic Lodge Masonic Lodge #36 in Washington, NJ since 1962. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 131 in Belvidere, NJ and the Pohatcong Memorial VFW Post 6701 in Washington, NJ. Allen enjoyed collecting rare and interesting items. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, old cars and Indian motorcycles. Allen is survived by his sons, Allen C. Lewis and his fiancé Heather Gasser and Aaron Lewis and his wife Amy and a granddaughter Lydia. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday May 28, 2021 at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. From 11 AM – 12 PM. Funeral services will be celebrated at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Stewartsville Presbyterian Cemetery.
