Obituary of Mark Stewart Savage
Mark Stewart Savage, 58, of Oxford, New Jersey passed away suddenly on May 22, 2021. Mark was born on July 19, 1962 in Neptune, New Jersey to the late Frank and Regina Savage.
Mark is survived by his wife, Elyn Savage; a daughter, Abigail Savage; and son's Jason Savage, and Bryan Savage along with his wife Meredith; and a brother, Scott Savage and his wife Robin.
Mark was a lifelong Ocean County resident, and lived throughout Ocean County before moving to Warren County in 2009. He grew up in Point Pleasant and was a proud towhead.
His undeniable pride and joy were his children and he loved them more than anyone could begin to imagine. Mark wanted to ensure his kids had life skills, and took (too) much pleasure in overseeing their lawn-cutting training. He loved nothing more than laughing until he cried, usually at juvenile jokes involving bodily functions. He found a point in every day to laugh both with and at his many, many friends, both new and lifelong.
He enjoyed getting out onto the golf course and watching golf, soccer, and football, and forever held out hope he would one day see the 'Fins rally. He was an amazing Armchair Coach who excelled in creating salty new language during a game.
Mark was known by his family and friends as the Barbecue Pit Master and thought a perfect summer day involved floating in the pool with a beer while smoking assorted meats.
His love of cars showed with how often he washed his car, and occasionally shaming his wife into washing hers.
Mark's career spanned decades in the IT field, and he had an unparalleled work ethic. He was last employed at PVH Corporation in Bridgewater.
He was amongst the most generous of people, an amazing husband to his adoring wife, and a doting Father. We ask that you raise a glass in honor of him and his legacy; perhaps a beer or nice bourbon.
He will be missed by all who knew him. The silence of his laughter is deafening.
A Memorial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mark's name to Hospice of New Jersey.
