Obituary of Mario John Pasquini

Mario John Pasquini Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020 at his home in Palmer Township, PA surrounded by his family. Mario was born on October 24, 1931 at his family home in New Village, NJ to the late Evo and Duilia Pasquini. Mario graduated from Washington High School class of 1950 where he was an outstanding athlete on the baseball team. He also was a pitcher on the Suburban League. He served proudly as a Staff Sergeant with the 5th Air Force during the Korean War where he received the United Nations Medal, the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Mario was co-owner of Island Park Family Restaurant for 47 Years, which was known for their famous clam bakes. His loving wife of 42 years Claire Ann passed away in 2003. Mario was the President of the Warren County Licensed Beverage Association. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Licensed Beverage Insurance Exchange and a member of the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Licensed Beverage Association. Mario is survived by a daughter, Terri Werkheiser; a son, Mario Pasquini Jr.; sister, Betty Mahoney and Marie Christine; his longtime companion, June Lance; grandchildren Kristin Sutton, Matthew Werkheiser and Jaime Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Ava Sutton and Kendall Zimmerman. In addition to his wife Mario was preceded in death by a brother Corky Pasquini in 2012. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday September 2, 2020 from 10-11 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 AM at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mario's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
