Obituary of Elizabeth J Hargreaves

Elizabeth "Betty" J. Hargreaves, 84 of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on January 31, 2020 at Newton Medical Center. Born in Asbury, NJ May 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles Kenneth Hyndshaw and Zelda Tharp Opdyke. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, music and playing the organ. She attended Easton High School. She was employed at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ prior to her retirement in 1997. Elizabeth was a former member of the Asbury Presbyterian Church in Asbury, NJ. She was financial secretary for 16 years, a trustee and secretary of the Women's Society. She was also a member of the Port Colden Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a past member of the Warren County Election Board and the over 50's Oxford Sunny Senior Club. She is survived by her loving daughter-in-law Gloria Hull, Five caring grandchildren, Jessica, Eddie, Ryan, Brandon and Loren Hull. In addition to her husband Arthur Hargreaves she is preceded in death by her son Edward R. Hull and a beloved companion Daniel W. Gelok. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will be celebrated immediately following at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Washington Cemetery in Washington, NJ In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Drive, Newton, NJ 07860, www.karenannquinlanhospice.org Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
