Obituary of Maureen Catherine Hammond

Maureen Catherine Hammond, 54 of Washington, NJ passed away suddenly on December 6, 2019 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ

Maureen was born on November 27, 1965 in Elizabeth, NJ to John "Jack" and Carol (nee Poli) Brady.

Maureen was a graduate of Seton Hall University class of 1988 where she earned her bachelor's degree in communications and voice. She married the love of her life Brian Hammond in 1995. Brian and Maureen lived in Ireland where they welcomed their first child Catherine to the world in 2000. They then moved back to the United States eventually settling in Washington, NJ. They welcomed their second child, Eamonn to the world in 2003. Maureen, a devout Catholic, was employed at St. Anne's Catholic Church as the Director of Religious Education. Church and family were her entire world. She was a kind woman who genuinly cared about everyone, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother Carol Brady, she is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Brian Hammond and her loving children; daughter, Catherine and son Eamonn, her sisters Sheila and Susan, and her many friends.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 3-8PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ 08827. Burial be take place at St. Anne's parish cemetery in Hampton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maureen's name to St. Anne's school of religious education, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ 08827 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
