Obituary of Brigid Teresa Breheny

Brigid Teresa Breheny, 73, of Washington, NJ (formerly of Manville, NJ) passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side.

 

Brigid was born on July 31, 1944 in Glangevlin, County Cavan, Ireland to the late Robert and Roseann McKiernan.

 

Brigid moved to the United States and met the love of her life Patrick who also was from Ireland. They married in Queens, NY and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Brigid was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was a people watcher, very funny and a woman who always spoke her mind. If you wanted an honest answer, she would give it. She enjoyed watching Judge Judy, Shark Tank and the Food Network. She also enjoyed bingo. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.

 

Brigid is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Patrick Breheny, her loving children, Ann Marie Pitner and her husband Scott, Steven Breheny and his wife Melissa, Caroline Breheny, Brendan Breheny and his wife Kim. Her cherished grandchildren, Riley, Morgan, Kristin, Aidan, Liam and Kyle. Her caring brother, Owen McKiernan and wife Philomena, sister Mary Kelly and husband Pat, and sister-in-law Nancy McKiernan and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Tommy and John McKiernan

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6-9 PM at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave. Washington, NJ 07882 Burial will immediately follow service at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ
