Obituary of Tony J Beasley

Tony J. Beasley, 59, of Easton, PA passed away suddenly while at home with his wife on January 1, 2017. Tony was born on August 19, 1957 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Harold Beasley and Marjorie (Lucy) Beasley of Easton, PA. Prior to moving to Easton in 1996, Tony was a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ. He graduated from Warren Hills High School, Class of 1975. Tony ran on the track and field and cross country teams in high school, where he still holds the school record for the 100 yard dash. He served proudly in the Army National Guard for 10 years. He was employed as a foreman for the NJ American Water Company for the past 37 years. Tony was a volunteer fireman and was the first and only African American to join and serve on the Washington Borough Fire Department. He is an active member and currently serves as the treasurer for the Washington Relief Association and a member of the NJ State Exempt Firemen's Association (Warren). He coached woman's softball in Washington and was an assistant soccer coach for his stepson's little league team in Easton, PA. He served on the Lafayette College Friends of Football Steering Committee where he was a proud sponsor of many players. He was a member and trustee at the Greater Shiloh Church in Easton. When Tony was not volunteering or serving his community he enjoyed Wednesday golf outings at Fairway Golf Course and Sunday afternoon golf outings at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course where he achieved his hole-in-one. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed traveling on cruises and vacationing in the Caribbean. Family and friends were invited to join him on his annual vacation to Ocean City, NJ. Tony will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Kimberly Beasley; his mother Marjorie of Easton, PA; a stepson Joel Hindelang of Sellersville, PA; sisters Elizabeth Harding and her husband Russell of Mission Viejo, CA; Mildred King, Marjorie Beasley and Terry Beasley all of Easton, PA; brothers Harold Beasley of Washington, NJ; Leonard Beasley of Bethlehem, PA; Tyrone Beasley of Easton, PA and Timothy Beasley of Nazareth, PA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony was preceded in death by his father Harold, a brother Wendell Beasley and a sister Leonarda Beasley. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday January 5, 2017 from 12-3 & 6-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington. NJ 07882.
