Obituary of Arlene R Oostdyk

Arlene R. Oostdyk, 89, of Stewartsville, NJ passed away peacefully on June 26, 2016 with her family by her side. Born at home in Oxford, NJ on October 28, 1926 to the late Ray W. and Helen A. Frey. Arlene graduated from Washington High School, class of 1944. She earned her Registered Nursing degree from Jersey City Medical Center. Arlene was an independent distributor for Nature's Sunshine Products, for 35 years. She was still active in helping people regain their health right up until her homegoing. Arlene was a very caring and generous person. She supported 100 orphans every month throughout her life. She actively supported her church, and enjoyed fellowshipping wherever she worshiped. She loved animals and gardening. She enjoyed playing card games, and was known as the shuffleboard champion whenever she competed. Her loving husband Marinus (Rin) Oostdyk passed away in 1999. She is survived by a daughter Darlene Haberer and her husband Ted; Two Sons, Ray Oostdyk and his wife Jeanne and James Oostdyk and his wife Lisa. She has a surviving sister Beryl Baylor, 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday June 29, 2016 from 4-7 PM at the Faith Discovery Church. 33 Brass Castle Rd. Washington, NJ 07882. A celebration of Arlene's life will follow at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at 10 am Thursday in Hillside Cemetery in Oxford, NJ. Donations may be made in Arlene's name to support her grandson Ray Oostdyk Jr. and family, as they are missionaries serving the Lord through Missionary Flights International at 3170 Airmans Drive, Fort Pierce, Florida 34946.
