Obituary of Dorothy Lifer

Dorothy Lifer, 95, of Washington Township passed away peacefully on June 15, 2015 at the Easton Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Bloomsbury, NJ on October 25, 1919 to the late Arthur and Mabel Simons. Dorothy was raised and spent her youth in Harmony on the family farm, before moving to the Port Colden section of Washington Township in 1947. She was a longtime member of the Port Colden United Methodist Church. Besides caring for her family as a homemaker Dorothy worked for the Blue Army Shrine, American Can Co and the Picatinny Arsenal during World War II. Her beloved husband William Lifer passed away in 1965. She enjoyed Puzzles, word puzzles, reading and tending to her flowers. Dorothy is survived by a daughter Sharon Fogg and her husband Gerald; Sons Craig Lifer and his wife Lisa, Gary Lifer and his wife Sandy, Kevin Lifer and his wife Patti; A sister Emma Raymond; 8 grandchildren Dale, Paul, Traci, Bill, Lyndsay, Brian, Sarah and Dan; 3 Great Grandchildren. Nichol, Bobby and Gunner. In addition to her husband William, she was preceded in death by a Son Dale Lifer in 1996; Sisters Viola Cruts, Mildred Simons and a newborn brother. In accordance with Dorothy's wishes funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Lower Harmony Cemetery in Harmony, NJ. Donations may be made to the Washington Township Fire Department, P.O. Box 307, Washington, NJ 07882 and/or Port Colden United Methodist Church, 193 Broad St, Washington, NJ 07882.
