Obituary of Alexander Bocko

Alexander Bocko, 91 of Washington Township went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2015. He passed peacefully in his home with his family by his side. Born on June 3, 1923 in Blairstown, NJ to the late Andrew and Anna Bocko. Alex graduated from Bangor high school class of 1941. He graduated from Churchmen's business school in Easton, PA with a degree in accounting. He served proudly in the US Navy and was part of the 87th Seabees Battalion (We build, We fight) during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theater during the war. He married his soulmate Marie "Zwolinski" in 1953 then moved to Washington, NJ to start their family. He was an insurance underwriter for Northwestern Mutual Life and a licensed real-estate broker. He owned and operated Alex Bocko Agency in Washington for more than 50 years retiring in 2013. He was a past member of the Washington Kiwanis club and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic church in Washington. Alex enjoyed fishing, bowling and traveling to Atlantic City, NJ. Above all he cherished time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Marie. A daughter Donna Bocko and her husband Andrew Mintz; Sons Richard Bocko, Thomas Bocko and his wife Kim, Brothers Nick, John and Mike Bocko; Grandchildren Kyle, Austin, Rachel, Madison and Alrich. Alex was preceded in death by a Sister Mary DeFrank, Brothers Frank and William Bocko. Services: Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday March 7, 2015 from 9-11 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funerals services will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made in Alexander's name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 OR Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
