Obituary of Betty Jo King

Betty Jo King 88, of the Brookfield section of White Township (formally of Washington) passed away peacefully on February 27, 2015 at home with her caring son by her side. Born on April 11, 1926 in Washington, NJ to the late Edgar and Josephine Smith. Betty Jo attended Phillipsburg high school and graduated from Washington high school class of 1943. She was a homemaker. Earlier in her life she was employed at the Tunsol Factory and G.C Murphy's Department Store in Washington, NJ. She also worked for the Oxwall Tool and Die Co in Oxford, NJ. Betty Jo was a member of the White Township Historical Society, Warren County Historical Society, Washington Historical Society, Millbrook Village Society and the Friends of Shippen Manor. She is survived by her son Michael King of Belvidere, NJ; Brother Robert Smith and his wife Marilyn of Beverley Hills, FL; Nephews Andrew Smith and his wife Mary of Blairstown, NJ and Thomas Smith and his wife Molly of Colorado and many great nieces and nephews Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents and a brother James E. Smith who died in 1971. Services: Friend and family may pay their respects on Wednesday March 4, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Miller Keystone Blood Center, 1465 Valley Center Parkway, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
