Obituary of Albin R Frenzel

Albin R. Frenzel Washington Twp Albin R. Frenzel 79 of Washington Township NJ, formally of Clark, NJ passed away peacefully on November 23, 2014 at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Albin was born on July 10, 1935 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Kurt and Eva Frenzel. Albin graduated from Springfield High School class of 1953. He also attended Babson College in Massachusetts. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps, he is a veteran of the Vietnam War and honorably served two tours of duty. Albin retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years of service and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. After completion of his military service, Albin began his career in law enforcement with the Penn Central Railroad Police, which then became the Conrail Police Department. He became a founding member of the NJ Transit Police Department in 1983 where he enjoyed a 26 year career and obtained the rank of Captain before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Rahway Elks 1075, Rahway American Legion Post 5, VFW Pohatcong Memorial Post 6701 in Washington, Marine Corps League in Easton, PA and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police NJ Transit Superior Officers Lodge 37. He enjoyed model trains, gardening and decorating his home for the holidays. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Susan; two sons Peter Frenzel and his wife Jennifer, Mark Frenzel and his wife Amy, their son Kurt; and Albin's brother Kurt Frenzel and his wife Imelda. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM Saint Joseph Catholic Church. 200 Carlton Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Interment will take place with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia Memorial donations may be made in Albin's name to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
