Obituary of Anthony J Edolo

Anthony J. Edolo 85, a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on November 19, 2014 at St Luke's Hospital Warren Campus. Tony was born on March 8, 1929 in Port Murray, NJ to the late Clement and Josephine Edolo. Tony attended Washington high school. He served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Anthony and his wife Gale (Dick) were married in 1967. Tony worked for the Laborers Union local 569 in Clinton, NJ retiring in 1994. Earlier in his life he was a business partner in Bell Pike Lanes in Belvidere and he owned and operated Belvidere Recreation Bowling Alley. Tony was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic church in Washington. He was a member of the American Legion in Belvidere, NJ Post 131. He was an avid bowler and shared his passion for the game with his granddaughter Jenna, whom he loved to watch bowl. He enjoyed horse racing and the lottery. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Gale; a daughter Jan Henderson and her husband Bill; his darling granddaughter Jenna Henderson; a brother Carl Edolo and two sisters Julia O'Conner and Nellie Sbriscia. Tony was preceded in death by sisters Rose Edolo and Marie Leggio; Brothers Nicholas, Patrick. Frank and Joseph Friends and family may call on Sunday November 23, 2014 from 6-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM from St. Joseph Catholic church. 200 Carlton Ave, Washington, NJ 07882 with Fr. Blaise Baran officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anthony's name to the church OR Warren Haven nursing home, 350 Oxford Rd, Oxford, NJ 07863.
